What are A20 Insulators?

A20 Bus Insulators are used to support copper bus-bars or in high-voltage switchgear applications.

There are frequently significant mechanical loads put on epoxy A20 bus insulators and therefore the design should comply with the electrical and mechanical industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, NEMA, and ANSI.

A20 bus insulators, also known as 20A bus insulators, don't need to be maintained. These insulators are characterized by their distinct profile, which consists of a series of concentric sheds, providing a large surface area for enhanced insulation and minimizing the risk of electrical flashovers. Copper bus-bars can be supported by aluminum or zinc-plated steel inserts without suffering from corrosion.

Polycast A20 insulators are manufactured from high-quality composite epoxy materials, ensuring excellent mechanical strength and durability, even under harsh environmental conditions. Widely utilized in power distribution networks, A20 insulators play a critical role in maintaining system reliability and safety by isolating high-voltage conductors from supporting structures, thus preventing electrical discharge and potential damage to equipment or harm to personnel.
